Cooking Tour Itinerary
Walking in the Barolo wine country hills in Piedmont, Italy
Please note: Walks are optional. If you have other interests and would like to do some things not in the itinerary, just let us know and we can change the daily plan for you.
Sunday
Arrive at our hotel. Welcome dinner at the hotel. Tour orientation as we sip and savour.
Monday
Drive to La Morra, Italy with spectacular views of the Barolo wine valley. Optional walk (1 hr.) in the vineyards to visit Renato Ratti wine museum, housed in the Abbey of the Annunziata where wine production began in 1162. Private tour with one of the Ratti family.
Lunch at Ristorante Al Castello in hilltown of Santa Vittoria, Italy with lovely panorama.
Return to the hotel to relax. Early evening full menu lesson at Real Castello. Visit Real Castello wine cellars and enjoy a tasting.
Dinner of your creations at Real Castello.
Tuesday
10:00 a.m. Visit unique medieval castle, expanded in 1340, in Serralunga. Stroll in Serralunga vineyards (45 minutes). Lunch of typical dishes nearby. Free time.
Afternoon Italian full menu cooking lesson at at a great restaurant. Full menu dinner of all your creations.
Wednesday
Private tasting and tour of another great Barolo winery. An example is Rocche Castamagno in La Morra. Light lunch in the area.
Free time. Late afternoon Italian appetizers lesson with Chef Franco at Ristorante La Cascata near Verduno, Italy.
Dinner at La Cascata---your antipasti and a full menu dinner.
Thursday
Drive to a family's farm for a typical country lunch. With their six children, the family makes all their own cheeses and salami, raises hens, cows, and other animals and grows fruit and vegetables. Giovanni may show you how he makes his cheeses. Enjoy great Italian country hospitality and marvellous views!
Optional early evening stroll around town of Barolo, Italy. Wine tasting with Signor Brezza in his cellars. Dinner at Ristorante Brezza on the terrace with views of vineyards and Barolo castle.
Friday
Optional walk (60 min) through vineyards. Visit small family winery in the Barbaresco country and enjoy light lunch there.
Afternoon full menu Italian cooking lesson with with Chef Esther, owner of a great restaurant in town of Barbaresco. Siesta in hotel. Dinner on the restaurant terrace overlooking the vineyards.
Saturday
Market day visit to the regional hub, Alba to explore Italian gastronomy shops, market stalls and medieval centre. Light lunch in Alba trattoria. Mid afternoon departure.
Note: Itinerary is subject to minor changes. You will experience everything in the itinerary, but perhaps in a different order. We will do our best to keep changes to a minimum.

Prices are in Euros and are subject to currency exchange fluctuation.
For 2-7 people: 2595 Euros. (approx $3815 US or $3840 CAD)
Single supplement: 300 Euros
