Wine Tour Itinerary
Castle and vineyards in town of Barolo in Piedmont
Day 1
Private transport with your guide to your hotel. If time, depending on arrival time, visit Gigi Rosso,
a medium size family run winery, for visit and tasting with very hospitable couple full of all the facts about Barolo wine in fluent English.
Dinner at one of the many good restaurants in Barolo.
Day 2 The Barolo Wine Country
10:00 a.m. Drive to Barolo area hill town to visit a good winery for private tour and tasting. An example is Rocche Castamagno in La Morra.
Light lunch nearby.
2:30 p.m. Drive down the hill to Gigi Rosso, a medium size family run winery, for visit and tasting with very hospitable
couple full of all the facts about Barolo wine in fluent English.
4:30 p.m. Drive up the hill to La Morra area to two wineries, Mauro Veglio is a typical family run winery where the wife
conducts wine tastings.
The Elio Altare winery is owned by a well known family who is one of the main "modern style"
Barolo producers who use barriques. The family's home is next door. Both wineries enjoy wide panoramic views of the wine country hills.
Dinner at a good restaurant in the La Morra area.
Day 3 Alba and the Barberesco Wine Country
10:30 Visit a small, family run Grasso winery in the country for tasting and light lunch.
2:30 Visit a large Produttori Barbaresco, the co-operative Barbaresco winery (about 60 producers), whose wines sell internationally, for tour and tastings.
4:30 p.m. Visit Ca Nova, a family winery with typically old style traditions and hospitality on a lovely older property near town of Barbaresco.
Dinner at one of our favourite restaurants among the vineyards outside town of Barbaresco.
Day 4 The town of Barolo
10:00 Visit famous Pio Cesare winery with cellars in Alba, one of the biggest producers of Barolo.
Visit and light lunch in town of Alba, the hub town of the region (about 30,000 people), which has some gastronomic shops, including truffle shops,
with names like "Sins of the Throat", as well as some good clothing stores and coffee bars.
3:00 p.m. Visit a good Barolo winery for a private tour and tasting. An example is Cordero di Montezemolo.
8:00 Dinner at the Brezza restaurant, in good weather on the terrace overlooking Barolo castle. Before dinner, visit the Brezza winery cellars on the same property for tour and tasting.
Day 5
Reluctant departure and ciao till the next time. Private transfer to Alba train station.

a cooking lesson, a visit to an ingeniously designed castle, guided walks for on country paths, truffle hunt, etc,
please let us know and we'll be glad to change your itinerary and price.
