Mama Margaret’s Cooking Tours in Italy

cooking inTuscany

Mama Margaret & Friends Cooking Adventures in Italy, in business since 1995, takes small groups of food and wine lovers on cooking and wine tours to Piedmont, the Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Sorrento/Amalfi Coast and Sicily.

In private visits you cook, drink, laugh and exchange stories with a cast of local people. You feel part of their lives and leave them feeling you’ve made new friends.

Your knowledgeable, fun loving local guide, soon a friend, looks after everything for you so you think only of enjoying yourselves. He or she introduces you to people everywhere and opens doors of friendship. You feel a local flavour that most tourists never experience.

We’ve found that groups of family or friends on our tours often re-connect with each other more as they share fun, stimulating experiences in a carefree, joy of life Italian atmosphere.

Northern Italy: Piedmont, Italian Riviera, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna

Does surrounding yourself in beautiful nature give you food for your soul? Walking in Piedmont’s series of hills, covered in vineyards, or along the shores of magnificent Lake Garda in the Veneto will awe you. In Cinque Terre, you’ll admire terraces of multi-coloured houses clinging to the hillsides, falling to the azure sea.

Wine lovers! In Piedmont drink some of Italy’s top reds, Barolo and Barbaresco right with the producers. In the Veneto, discover how they make another top Italian red, the rich Amarone, right in the wineries’ cellars.

Is food your reason for living? Emilia-Romagna, Italy’s gastronomic paradise, is home to parmesan cheese, traditional balsamic vinegar and prosciutto. Piedmont is famous for its white truffles, amazing range of appetizers, hazel nuts and desserts with chocolate. The Veneto is famous for its fish, fresh from the Adriatic and its risottos made of top quality rice from its paddies.
