Your local guide, soon friend, takes you on walking tours in Pisa, San Gimignano where you drink the renowned white wine, Volterra known for its Etruscan art and San Miniato famous for its white truffles.

Italy Cooking School Tour Itinerary

Tuesday

Meet at Castelfiorentino train station (on the Florence-Siena line) between 5 to 6 p.m.

Welcome dinner at  your country inn with good Tuscan wines, of course.

Wednesday

With outgoing Chef Stefania at her restaurant in Pisa, learn how to make a full menu Tuscan dinner and enjoy a delicious, multi-plate lunch complemented by great Tuscan wines. Your local guide will take you on a guided walk to discover the “leaning tower town” with free time to explore.

Drive back to your country inn to relax. Enjoy another wonderful dinner at home.

Thursday

Morning cooking class at home. Lunch of your creations.

Afternoon visit to an excellent winery for a tour and guided wine tasting of their best wines.

Dinner at a local trattoria.

Friday

With your guide, explore Volterra, a fascinating hill town, famous for its Etruscan art and museum, alabaster as well as its Roman and Medieval history and art. Lunch in a typical restaurant in town.

In the late afternoon your lovely country inn’s excellent restaurant, cook recipes based on Italian Renaissance ones with Susanna. Dinner of your creations.

Saturday

Morning hands-on cooking class in an old country style Tuscan kitchen by home-cook Emanuela just outside San Gimignano, based on traditional recipes and saffron specialties. Lunch of your creations around her dining table.

Excursion to San Gimignano, famous for its medieval towers and white Vernaccia wine and lovely countryside. The beautifully preserved medieval centre has a variety of piazzas, churches with frescoes by Ghirlandaio (Michelangelo’s teacher) and Gozzoli, palaces and cafes where you sit back with a glass of Vernaccia and watch local life go by.

Dinner at your country inn home.

Sunday

Visit San Miniato. Lunch “al fresco” on the terrace of renowned antique restaurant.

Transfer to the Castelfiorentino train station around 4 pm.

After a week in this special region, take with you memories of your all too short taste of Tuscan country life with delightful local people and a host of recipes and cooking skills.
