Cooking With a Family in the Chianti Hills

Learn Italian cooking secrets with two delightful sisters in their 13th century farmhouse on a Chianti hill with amazing views of vineyards, olive tress and forests. You feel like your Italian sister is teaching you how to make the perfect tomato sauce for pasta. Sit down at the table with her sister and kids for a typical Italian family lunch of your creations as you talk, laugh and drink wine. Stay in three rooms with shared bathrooms in their home or ask us about a lovely four star hotel in a nearby Chianti town.

Every morning have fun cooking a typical four course lunch hands-on in a Tuscan country kitchen. On two afternoons, your host takes you to visit a winery in a pretty medieval hamlet and Chianti towns. Other afternoons, take a siesta or a walk along the peaceful country roads. In colder times, relax by the fire in the farmhouse lounge with a good book. If you stay at a hotel, return to your hotel and hang out with locals in your Chianti town.

5 Night Itinerary

Sunday

Arrive at the Montevarchi train station and transfer by private car to a rambling 13th century Tuscan farmhouse.

In the evening sit down to a welcome dinner with two delightful sisters,  Paola and Simonetta, both excellent home cooks and teachers.

Monday

Start your first hands-on cooking class lasting about two or three hours, learning four to five authentic Tuscan dishes. For lunch, gather around the table, share stories and laughter and dine on these creations.

Free time to relax with a good book in the garden or by the fire, or head out for a walk through the gorgeous Tuscan countryside.
Enjoy light dinner with the family.

Tuesday

Participate hands-on in your cooking class in the farmhouse kitchen. Enjoy your delicious creations over a bottle of wine and playful conversation around the family table.

After free time in the afternoon, take an excursion to the famous Chianti wine region to visit local wineries and towns. In the evening, return home for a delicious light dinner.

Wednesday

Cook another delicious array of Italian dishes and feel proud of your hard work over wonderful lunch around the table with your new friends.

After a free afternoon relaxing, get together for a light dinner with the family.

Thursday

After your morning cooking class and lunch, relax and recharge at home.

In the late afternoon, take an excursion in the Chianti area.

Return home for a light dinner with good wine and conversation with the family and your companions.

Friday

Experience a last morning of cooking, conversation and good wine followed by a siesta on the farm after lunch. In the late afternoon, transfer by private car to the Montevarchi train station.
