    having fun cooking at B & B

You visit a family at their farm high in the mountains, where the truffle hunter father takes you on a hunt in the forest and shows you how his dogs sniff out these rare delicacies from among tree roots. You enjoy a wonderful lunch with this friendly family around their table.

You stay at an agriturismo country house owned and run by a very hospitable local couple and set in rolling olive groves overlooking the medieval town of Bevagna with breathtaking views across the valley all the way to Assisi on a clear day.

You also explore exquisite hill towns:

Assisi, world famous for its Basilica di San Francesco with its magnificent Giotto frescoes covering it from floor to ceiling, sits on a hill, marked by a distinctive medieval castle.

In Montefalco, visit the Arnaldo Caprai winery and taste Sagrantino wine, one of the best red wines in Italy.

    Trevi, Italy

    Trevi, Umbria's olive oil capital

Medieval Trevi is the olive capital of Umbria, set on top of hills of olive groves. Visit an olive mill and learn how olives are grown and olive oil is produced.

Beautiful Norcia is famed throughout Italy for its butchers. At a local trattoria for lunch, savour a variety of local salami and hams with fresh bread and other delights.

Perugia's historic centre boasts ancient Roman and Etruscan monuments and a main boulevard of cafes where you can watch local life go by. It's famous for its chocolate, baci (l “kisses”) - drops of chocolate wrapped in silver foil with romantic sentiments on a strip of paper inside.
